You know what they say, the stripes of a Zebra never fade. In this case I feel like a Zebra. I was this close to finish writing full stop, but then. A story about a Zebra crossed my path. This particular Zebra lives at a private property up north in Scandinavia together with a part bred Zebra and a Mule.

Kind of a cute and funny story in itself. If it wasn't for one tiny detail. Cause in the discussion that came along with story on the horse forum where I found it, one individual basically asked how the Zebra "was ever going to survive" the winter since they are not made for winter climate.

A total OMG moment, at least for me.

Does't she know Zebras are kept in Zoos all over the world, living through the winters?

Doesn't she know mother nature made sure animals adapt?

How can that be???

That's when it hit me, stories and comments like that are part of the reason I've been writing for all these years. I started my first horse site project twenty years ago or so. Some survived for years, others failed really fast.

A couple of trials died after I got viciously trolled about ten years ago, and quite frankly never fully recovered.

I want to make this project a survivor.

If not for myself but for the sport I love. For the horses, for educating people to make people use their brain for the good of the horses. In all, staying silent would only make me an accomplice to all the wrong doings out there.

But this time around I will do it different. How that will pan out is not full clear just yet, I just wanted to reach out and say I am still here. Behind the keys of my laptop tapping away, letter by letter, word by word, story by story, and shaping the future of a pet project with the hopes of making a difference in the world of horses and equestrian sport.

Stay tuned, cause there's more to come 😃
