Stay Focused

Stay Focused

Today [actually yesterday] Hoofbeat Online and The Hoofbeat Chronicles were relaunched on its original platform, which would be Substack.

The reasons for doing this are many, and the short explanation given in the first chronicle here on the platform earlier on today still tells a good story. But not the complete story.

The complete story is I felt I started to drift away from the main goal which is to provide my readers, old timers, new comers and anybody else out there with an interest in equestrian sport an easy to read and follow online experience.

Giving people food for thought, things to think about, and topics to discuss. Then one day I realised I had started to stray.

I started to panic, and I lost my focus.

In all honesty I strayed away so much from my own goals [moral] I even started to consider to open up a Facebook page.

Which in my case would mean I would actually have to rejoin Facebook to even get started.

Then I started to list the things that made me stray away from my writing goals. After a while it became crystal clear that what was stopping me was not as much myself as the platform where the site was hosted.

Cause suddenly anything media was a nightmare. I could not post pictures, sound files nor videos, at least not if I did not begin with running them through some editing program to make the files smaller.

Every time I wanted to share a quick thought like a “tweet” I was slowed down, cause the platform was not really built for it. So I turned to Bluesky [like an original Twitter] and so on.

To sum things up, all the things that were slowing me down, were the very same things that made me stray in the first place. Which in itself slowed me down even further, and created one gigantic negative spiral of a mess.

I am not the only one facing this, in today’s society this problem is applied to many small business owners and even riders.

When riders start to stray they loose valuable time on their horses. They loose time with their horses. They even loose time with their trainers, and when one loose focus it is freakin’ hard [almost impossible] to reach ones goals.

Stay focused and have a good day! 🏇
